maps in the net

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

The openstreetmap gives you a clearer overview of the cities. Each zoom step shows a different aspect (from density via main traffic to streets). On the right you should click on the plus, try the different layers to get more information. Choose the cycle map to get out all the level lines. It s even possible to export stuff.
Here you get help on how to use it.

There is a special Congo-Kinshasa Project. Maybe you could contact the user Moyogo or Olivier Auber.

reinventing lifta

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

reinventing lifta a pdf on lifta (neighboring ghost city to jerusalem).

“The village of Lifta, which lies just outside Jerusalem, has been
abandoned since the Israeli army drove out the last of its Palestinian
inhabitants in 1948. Today Lifta is more or less a ghost town.
while the former villagers live mainly in East Jerusalem and Ramallah;.
Now, however, a renovation project aims to turn Lifta into
an expensive and exclusive Jewish residential area – reinventing
its history in the process.”

Welcome

Monday, April 20th, 2009

During the course you will get used to the blog. It helps you to stay informed and to publish your ideas and results (once you have registered). Since it is a seminar and you are supposed to get your information, you might use this blog to contact personally and directly people researching on your topic.

On Wednesday 22nd, we will talk about usernames and how to use the blog. For the future you will find a manual here.
Above you can already see your first exercise ‘consolidation of movements’.
